Algioma, situated on Lake Michigan, is a great stand-alone stop, and a super stop if you’re heading to Door County, whether coming from Milwaukee or Green Bay. Algoma would serve you well as a base for visiting Door County and Green Bay. It is a small community, with a wonderful sand beach, boardwalk, and shops. It is a quiet, welcoming  place to plant your feet and relax. I liked walking out to the Pierhead Lighthouse and getting some good old Wisconsin oxygen.
